Business Trip to China, Part 2: Jolywood

In the previous article, we gave you an overview of our visit to Canadian Solar. On the second day of our business trip, we had the opportunity to visit another important supplier – Jolywood. This company is known for its advanced technologies in the production of photovoltaic products, and we were eager to see what they had to show us.

Welcome at Jolywood

Upon arrival at Jolywood's headquarters, we were warmly welcomed and introduced to the company's main focus areas and achievements. Jolywood is a high-tech company that focuses on the development and production of photovoltaic products. Their motto, "The Same Sun, More Value," and the slogan "Striving, Innovation, Focus" reflect their commitment to continuous improvement in the field of solar energy.

Key Information About Jolywood:

• Founded: The company has a long-standing tradition in the photovoltaic industry.
• Investment: In February 2023, Jolywood received an investment from Zheneng Electric Power.
• Support: They received comprehensive support from Zhejiang Provincial Energy Group.
• Awards: They are recognized as a key high-tech enterprise and a national green factory.
• Research Laboratories: They have laboratories such as the National CNAS Accreditation Laboratory, TÜV Rheinland, TÜV SÜD, TÜV Nord, and others.

Tour of the Production Facilities

After the introductory meeting, we were taken to the production facilities. It was fascinating to observe how modern technologies and automated processes are advancing production. The production lines were largely automated, demonstrating the company's strong emphasis on efficiency and quality.

What We Saw:

• Automated Production Lines: Modern technologies allow for production with minimal human intervention.
• Development and Progress: A constant pursuit of new technologies and process improvements.
• Production Capacity: High production capacity thanks to advanced technologies.
• And we were treated to some excellent refreshments.

Culinary Experiences

Food has always been a huge part of our experience, as Chinese cuisine is known for its diversity and rich flavors.

What We Tried:

• Seafood: Various types of fish, shrimp, and other seafood.
• Frog Legs: For many of us, this was something new, but we enjoyed it.
• Traditional Chinese Dishes: A plethora of noodles, rice, vegetables, and meat prepared in countless ways.

We realized that in China, good food is an essential part of their lifestyle. For example, in the shopping center we visited, restaurants dominated, while clothing stores were in the minority. Unlike us, where restaurants are usually an addition to shopping, in China, it's the other way around.

The visit to Jolywood was not only inspiring but also provided us with deep insights into advanced solar energy technologies. And, of course, the great food was a pleasant bonus. We look forward to the next part of our business trip, where we will share our experience at the SNEC exhibition – one of the largest solar exhibitions in the world.
